Healthy Children – Happy Families!

By | Sport-Health-Achievement

Healthy Children – Happy Families! “The House of Hope” in Almaty is a unique Social State Institution. The House accommodates both newborn and children under the age of seven (7) years old, generally from dysfunctional families the majority of which are represented by lone parents who are almost ready to abandon from their parental rights because of various circumstances: financial instability, disease, age, etc. To give these parents ones more to think on their future steps, to get on their feet and find a job – the House of Hope temporally accommodates and educates their children for the purposes of future reunion with their parents. The main target of this State Institution – to keep the family and return both healthy and educated child to his/her parent, to reduce the number of abandoned children as well.

Though all the personnel are treating children with due care and love, the “House of Hope” is a closed institution and those children living there are still limited in entertainment, playing and sports facilities – as a result they have to use and play those games and toys they have inside the House. So it is very important for us to provide children with everything they need for their mental and physical development. And one of those 9 groups existing in the House of Hope has no outdoor playground where children could physically train to be healthy and strong.

Having weighted all the pros and contras, the “Saby” Charitable Foundation decided to construct such a playground for this Group. Thanks to the financial assistance of our sponsor – LLP “AlmatyGasEngineering” – we could put into commission a new playground “Ksil” for those children by the 1st September. In addition, we also reequipped the existing sports ground for all the children living in the House of Hope.

Be strong and healthy, our little friends!

“Youth” Project: The foundation has been laid

By | Youth Project

“Youth” Project: The foundation has been laid As we have already reported, in 2011 the “Saby” Foundation launched a pilot project “Youth” the purpose of which was to support single-minded and perspective young people from among the graduates of public social institutions. The main objective of the project was to help orphans, who had been pre-selected and enrolled in the number of participants, to acquire the roof over their heads. This year has become lucky for three girls and three young men – students of Zhastar Ui (House of Youth), Almaty.

In July and August the “Saby” Foundation and Zhilstroysberbank JSC entered into tripartite contracts on housing construction savings will all the guys. After preparation of all necessary documents and opening personal accounts for all six guys our Foundation, as a charity, transferred initial contributions in the amount of 50% of the amount of each contract. Fulfilment of this condition as well as monthly contributions of the project participants will allow them to use the accumulated funds in three years and, after taking out a loan at low interest rates, enter into the walls of their own apartments.

“Alem” Programme – 1 year!

By | Alem – support of young talents

“Alem” Programme – 1 year! The “Saby” Charitable Foundation celebrates a small but very significant event – a year has passed since the start of the “Alem” Programme the purpose of which is to support young talents, and we are summing up the first results:

During the year our committee has processed over 160 applications from candidates from more than 20 cities and villages of our country. We have organized visits of the Foundation’s employees to 8 populated areas in order to inform young people about the conditions of the Programme.

Specialists have held 8 creative auditions in the field of vocal, as a result of which two young singers having unique voices Zhassulan Sydykov from Kostanay and Timur Aldybergenov from Almaty oblast have received grants to study in the Kazakh National Conservatory.

Another two participants, Assanova Shamshyrak from Aktobe region and Lushnikova Yelena from Petropavlovsk have received educational grants under the “Alem” Programme and entered prestigious educational institutions: Yelena – the University of Medicine, and Shamshyrak – College of Music.

In anticipation of our little anniversary we have organized a personal exhibition of the youngest participant of the “Alem” Programme” – Roman Kuznetsov from Petropavlovsk. His works have been presented to the visitors in the Directorate of Art Exhibitions in Almaty.

We also provide our support to strong-willed children who, for some reason, have not become participants of the “Alem” Programme but who have made their best efforts for that end. Thus, Khametov Anuar, a novice sculptor, and a young poet Soltanov Beknur, both from Semey, have received gifts from the “Saby” Foundation – laptops – as a reward for their creativity.

Significant work has been carried out in collaboration with Timur Bekmambetov on the implementing a joint project – Scenario Competition to seek and select talented writers from all over Kazakhstan, the winner of which was our compatriot Bakhtior Kadyrov.

We believe that each of the children will meet expectations of the Foundation and will become an excellent specialist in a chosen field.

Good luck, the first participants of the “Alem” Programme!

No more stairs – no more problems!

By | Decent life for Disabled Persons

No more stairs – no more problems! For a period of already past three years the “Saby” Charitable Foundation has been engaged in implementing the Project “Decent Life to Disabled People”. A great scope of works has been performed under the Project: 50 units of specialized vehicles were bought for 16 cities in Kazakhstan to the total amount of more than USD 2 200 000 million. So, the people who have difficulties in their movement outdoors including those ones being “confined” to their wheelchairs – today can go out, run their own business and take part in the social life like we all do!

But we are not satisfied with the results which have been already achieved. In order to improve the quality of servicing of wheelchair users, we are planning to equip each “Invataxi” Transport Service with a special crawler-tracked mechanism to be used for ups and downs of wheelchairs up- and down-stairs, as the majority of our wheelchair users are living in high-rise buildings. Unfortunately, up to the date we have up and down wheelchair users in the arms of their relatives and personal assistants. That is very difficult and dangerous.

Being focused on the given problem, our Foundation began the process of accumulating the funds for procurement of such mechanisms the cost of which is over USD 10 000 per 1 set, and their further uncompensated transfer to all the existing Societies of Disabled People cooperating with us under the given Project.

Wonderful Things are right beside you!

By | Alem – support of young talents

Wonderful Things are right beside you! The first Exhibition by Roman Kuznetsov – a young talented artist from Petropavlovsk comes to its end. The given Exhibition was organized by the Charitable Foundation “Saby” with the support of the Art Exhibition Directorate.

The results of the given Exhibition are amazing: the works of a young talented artist were of high interest with the Mass media, with positive response from the critics and professionals; moreover the visitors of the Exhibition have noted the unique style of painting of Roman Kuznetsov. “You couldn’t even imagine that these paintings are created by a little boy – his works are amazing! When you are looking at these expositions you can feel the huge energy they are saturated and deeply sense they are created!”– said one of the guests.

Well, we’re very gratified by our young artist’s success (participant of Alem Program); and we wish him to have a great success both in his future paintings and other undertakings. “Roma, we wish you to remain for ever one, to create what you like most of all – because you are good in doing that!”

It is easy to HELP!

By | news

It is easy to HELP! Many of us, while watching TV or reading newspaper notes about the disadvantaged, miserable and seriously ill people, especially children, are sincerely ready to help them and to take part in their further life. But we all are very busy and sometimes have no time to go to the Bank or the Editors Office to convey charitable assistance to the needy. But, unfortunately, all our good intentы are remained without being done.

Now we have a social service here in Kazakhstan which is available for all people living in our country who want to help orphaned children, ill persons and invalids.
To make a charitable payment you should find any “QIWI” Payment Terminal (payment terminals working within the Unified System of Instant Payments) and make your contribution – for these purposes you need to click “Other Services” then press “Charity”, select the Foundation and pay.
But there is another problem to be solved. The problem connected with selecting the Foundation you can trust and which could transfer your money directly to the addressee?

Saby Charitable Foundation (thebig.kz) for 9 years of its working has provided assistance to more than 250 000 disadvantaged and serious ill people all over Kazakhstan:
210 000 seriously ill children and adults,
35 000 disabled people,
5 000 orphaned children.
More than 28 000 people each year and 76 people each day feel YOUR love and assistance.

Every tenge is important!

Football Ground for Youth Home

By | Sport-Health-Achievement

Football Ground for Youth Home The Youth Home “Zhastar Ui”, Almaty – is a social establishment which accommodates the orphans-graduates from orphan homes. Young people live there until they reach 23 years old based on a dormitory concept: they buy food, cook and pay for utility services themselves. And it is not easy to be independent after being fully supported by the Government: you need to look for a job and earn enough money to buy food and clothes, to pay for education, etc. While the Youth Home staff is trying to do everything possible to facilitate their socialization process – it is very difficult for young people to face such a contrast in their previous lifestyle and that one they have today; but it is more difficult for them to go through an adaptation process to new realities.

And here the sport comes to help young people to overcome the difficulties. Sport is like a “bridge” for young people to go to their future making them strong enough to overcome the difficulties and survive in the existing circumstances. Residents of “Zhastar Ui” enjoy playing volleyball, basketball and wrestling, but playing football – is the most popular among young people that is proved by creation of both men’s and women’s team which are successfully playing taking part in a great number of competitions of different levels.

There is the only problem – our sportsmen have no football ground to do their physical exercises and have to do that on the open ground breathing the clouds of dust. Those sponsors who are so generous to support Orphan Homes – are not so generous to support young people living in Youth Homes.

Having considered the given situation the “Saby” Charitable Foundation has decided to include “Zhatar Ui” into its program for implementation of the Project “Sports-Health-Achievements”. It is necessary to note that for a period of past few years our Foundation gives its regular support to the given Youth Home but in other areas of its development. It was decided to construct a professional sports ground for playing mini-football (total area: 800 square meters) coated with a special safety “synthetic grass” and equipped with the flood lights. The construction works are in progress, the football ground is planned to be commissioned by the 1st day of September.
