“Alem” Participant and future scientist Ablaikhan Akhazhanov studies nanotechnology in America not far from “silicon valley”. Ablaikhan tells about himself and his study in the University of California.
Fireworks died down and the New Year holidays ended. On the first day of training the employees of the ‘Saby’ Foundation went to schools in Pavlodar. The main purpose of this trip was to disseminate information about the ‘Alem’ Young Talents Support Program.
Pupils and teachers were explained to the conditions of the Project. For them such a charity is a novelty, it has caused great interest and at times skepticism too. The very few of Kazakhstan charity foundations provide educational grants and probably just only employees of ‘Saby’ travel around the country in search of talented youth.
However Pavlodar region is rich for talented people, many famous personalities of Kazakhstan are natives of the region. So we hope that a large influx of applications from intelligent and gifted children to participate in ‘Alem’ Program will be from these places.

The employee of ‘Saby’ foundation visited Petropavlovsk city aimed to find the gifted children recently. This trip was done under the scope of the program intended to support gifted youths of ‘Alem’ program.
Our visit became a pleasant surprise as for the young northerners and for the administrations of the local schools, where they study – the representatives of the charity funds come there seldom. Educational program of ‘Saby’ foundation, kept everybody on the edge of their seats. In scope of this program, any gifted senior may compete for the grant on obtaining education in the best universities of Kazakhstan, as well as in the universities of near and far abroad. And despite of frost these meetings were warm and efficient.
Of course every graduate has own vision of his/her future. And ‘Alem’ program can become the starting point for his/her professional self-fulfillment and career development.
We wish success in studying for all youths we got known in Petropavlovsk and we believe that the talents from this northern region will become the members of ‘Alem’ soon.
25-year old Makhmut Razzakov with his parents returned from Turkmenia to Kazakhstan, the historical motherland of their family, several years ago. The whole life he wanted to appear on the halls singing national Kazakh songs to the accompaniment of his dombra. But hard destiny of the so-called repatriates (oralman) made its changes- the boy graduated technical school and started his work in a printing house.
Years passed. If it was not the significant meeting with Saby Foundation the dream about creative career could have left unrealized. The experts of Saby Foundation having held voice trial made the conclusion about the young person: “He is a real national talent and original”. As a result Makhmut received educational grant for the education in the Kazakh National Music Conservatory named after Kurmangazy, on the preparatory course of the Faculty of Traditional Music.
The adherence to your dream is the way for its realization and no matter how old you are. The young dombrist proved it.
This week a social photo exhibition ‘I have the right to …’ is held in the Central State Museum. This exhibition is intended to raise awareness of the Kazakh public about the problem of children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD).
Photos for the exposition were made by our ‘Alem’ participant Kanat Beysekeyev, who was awarded by an international grant of ‘Saby’ Foundation in the framework of ‘Alem’ Young Talents Support Program last year to take a one-year course at New York Film Academy majoring in ‘Photography’.
And at present Kanat fufils a serious social order. The organizers are confident that visitors will not remain indifferent to his sincere and keen work.
This August Saby Charitable Foundation has announced the selection of pupils of 7- 8 forms for intensive mathematical courses within the framework of the “Alem” Young Talents Support Program. The results of the selective testing have been declared recently, the winners of which became 10 candidates who received the maximal points.
There were many pupils who desired to try their strength, that is why they were divided into two groups with the aim to check intensively the preparation of each child, the ability to solve mathematical problems and to think logically.
Unfortunately, such contests are held rarely. And, perhaps, for the first time in Kazakhstan the financing of education and methodical materials expenses for 5 years (!) has fully defrayed the charitable foundation.
We publish the names of 10 lucky persons, whose first task will become the serious education in mathematics for further entrance the most prestigious technical universities.

Last week we sent off to America on the basis of two-year master’s program another Alem’s trainee – Ablaykhan Akhadganov for him to learn in Californian University UCLA, Los-Angeles city to get a degree in ‘electronic engineering’. We consider that there he will unlock his potential of young scientist having plunged into the world of complicated laboratory researches and experiencing new opportunities of the high technologies.
The charity fund ‘Sabee’ besides payment of educational expenses covered all expenses for Ablaykhan accommodation and nutrition. Thus our fund creates all necessary conditions for young gifted Kazakhstani, who get abroad education on the basis of ‘Alem’ program for talented youngsters support, in order they not to be distracted from getting knowledge.
We are confident that Ablaykhan and other youngsters like him soon will create modern highly technological products ‘made in Kazakhstan’, presenting our country in leading market of innovations.
