A member of the Search Committee of the Alem Young Talents Support Program, an expert of the poetical contest, a well-known poet, writer, publicist, secretary and chairman of Childhood Reading Council of the Kazakhstani Writers Alliance Sultan Kali answers the questions of Saby Charitable Foundation.

Recently the Alem Program celebrated its 2-year birthday since its launch. On the one hand, the period is very small for the large-scale project covered the whole country, on the other hand we can already see some intermediate results.

For the past period over 300 requests from 35 localities of the country have been sent to Saby Charitable Foundation. Employees of our organization thoroughly examine every resume making primary selection. Further destiny of the participants is at the mercy of the respected committee consisting of unconditional professionals and experts in different fields of science, culture, art, sport and other fields. We do not divide talents into necessary and not very necessary, every gifted child will obtain an expert’s evaluation and our Foundation’s support which he/she deserves.

The first letter was sent to www.alemthebig.kz in July, 2010 by Zhasulan Sydykov from Kostanai and, being the first, he received the most serious preferences. We made a lot of efforts for his development and, without mock modesty we can declare our joint results: the Alem Program participant has become a beginning star of the Kazakhstan show business and acquired a lot of young fans.

Berik Tlepbergenov from Atyrau region, having been shot in the promotional video of the Alem Program broadcasted by the national TV-channels won the respect of peers and love of all girls without exception, having become an example for young people who are still unconfident in their talents.

Batyrzhan Tazabekov’s talent is highly appreciated by professionals. He gives great hopes and is predicted to have an interesting creative future. Even now Batyrzhan with the assistance of Saby Charitable Foundation appears at concerts, takes part in different TV-programs and song contests.

Elena Lushnikova is a future doctor. Since her childhood, dreaming to be engaged in medicine, she followed her heart and currently studies at the Astana Medical University. Elena is in good standing and one of the best students. She proves with her studies and active life position that young professionals were, are and will be a hope of our country.

Other children who received our assistance at different times also gladden us with their results and achievements demonstrating that the chosen policy of the project is right.

On these summer days, a rush period for enrollees, the selection of Alem participants for 2012-2013 academic year is being held. 10 grant receivers have been chosen already. And this is just the beginning. The program works, it is being developed and is extending. We are waiting for new applicants. The III International festival of action movies ASTANA held from July 1 to July 3 on the threshold of the Day of the Capital of Kazakhstan is completed. The movie holiday once again gathered the stars of world movie industry: actors, movie directors, workers of culture and men of art, famous producers and potential investors.

The last year’s promise of Timur Bekmambetov to annually make the Festival more unique and interesting embodying a variety of ideas and plans is fulfilled. Among the guests there were noticed: a French actor Vincent Cassel, well-known producers and script writers Jim Lemli, Kang Je Gu, Kevin Reynolds, popular Russian actors Vladimir Menshov, Yelizaveta Boyarskaya, Galina Konshina, Arkadiy Ukupnik and “Z.Dance” team.

The movie program of 16 films included the works of Timur Bekmambetov “President Lincoln: Vampire Hunter”, Julien Leklerk “Assault”, Mark Webb “The New Spider-Man” which the lucky movie-goers were able to see the first in the world.

Within the framework of film festival there was also held the final of script competition where Saby Charitable Foundation acts as an official partner for the second time already. A name of the winner was declared in solemn environment on July 3. It is Faisal Qureshi from Great Britain. Now a sacred door to “the land of dreams” is opened for a new author – Bazelevs film company offered him a unique opportunity to make a film using his own scenario and also presented him a cash prize amounting to 10 000 dollars.

We wish Faisal to realize his project as soon as possible and to achieve career heights in the wonderful professional film-land.

The results of the second Poetry Contest in the state language held by Saby Charitable Foundation as a part of the Alem Young Talents Support Program were summarized. All participants, both grown-ups and children, tried to express their love to the motherland, native country, our planet, the humanity and Human Being.

The poetical compositions were evaluated by an expert in literature – the poet, writer, pressman, secretary and chairman of the Childhood Reading Council of the Kazakhstan Writers Alliance Khali Sultan Khaliuly.

By results of this creative contest, the only winner was defined to be a 17-year old Akzharkyn Mutiyeva from Atyrau region. According to our expert, she has “perfect potential and great chances to reach high goals in the world of letters”. The winner received the grand prize of the contest – a notebook.

Moreover, at the initiative of Aselle Tasmagambetova, the President of Saby Foundation, the collection of poems, which will include compositions of best participants, is going to be published. The copies of the book will be donated to the libraries of all the schools where young authors study or studied.

In conclusion, we would like to present a poem of Akzharkyn which was recognized as best this year.
