Let Every Child Be Healthy

By | Save the children’s life

Let Every Child Be Healthy Saby Foundation wishes the little citizens of our country Happy International Children’s Day!

Although June 1 is not a day-off, it’s widely celebrated in Kazakhstan by arranging festivals and fundraising campaigns.

The SMS Project “Give Life to Children”, implemented by Saby Foundation in cooperation with Voluntary Charity Society, has been giving aid for over five years to the children with serious illnesses who do not have any possibility to get a surgical treatment within our country. Thanks to the efforts of thousands of people, the fundraising campaign gained 2.29 million dollars, and nearly four hundred operations of 357 children from all the regions of our Republic were performed.

The SMS method of beneficent aid offered by us in 2007 gives an opportunity to everyone to do his/her bit for saving children. ACTIV, KCELL and BEELINE subscribers can send number ‘1’ or a wish to the short number 8099 and the sum in the amount of 280 tenge will be transferred from their phone account for the benefit of an unfamiliar lovely little angel. As folk wisdom says – “There are no other people’s children”.

May children’s laughter be heard in every house and June 1 last all year round!

Staircase Is Not a Problem Any More

By | Decent life for Disabled Persons

Staircase Is Not a Problem Any More In the beginning of this year, the Associations of Disabled People of the nine cities of Kazakhstan, the participants of the Project “Decent Life for Disabled People”, have received a present from Saby Charitable Foundation – the portable stair-climbing mechanisms to complete Invataxi transportation services. These units are used for the transportation of wheelchair-bound people, making their lives significantly easier, since they allow, with some effort, to lift up and down a wheelchair-bound person at the stairs in the buildings not equipped with elevators and ramps. This kind of ‘stair rover’ does not require the equipping of stairs with special rails or other auxiliary joints.

Many people with special difficulties in travelling managed for the first time in many years to leave the walls of their houses to visit the health care facilities and social institutions, to meet with friends or just to see the sun.

For the present moment we have an agreement for the supply of the second lot of lifting units from Italy. In mid-summer one stair lift for each association in Taraz, Kyzylorda and Ekibastuz will be delivered to the sponsored Associations of Disabled People, while the associations in Astana and Shymkent, in view of the larger Invataxi fleet of motor cars, will additionally receive one more unit.

Green Light for the Entrance to Higher Education Institutions

By | Project "Education"

Green Light for the Entrance to Higher Education Institutions Nine months of the preparation to the Unified National Testing in the municipal tutorial center, where in the frame of the Saby Foundation Education Project the fosterlings of our children houses built on their knowledge of school subjects, have been passed.

Control exams as well as the last year’s experience have showed that after having passed these courses, when entering higher education institutions, school leavers can count on the winning of education scholarships. We do hope that the tenacious long work on deepening of knowledge and sharpening of UNT techniques in the end will help the children to cope with the intension during examination and pass it, having done by this the first step in social adaptation.

And we, having “crossed our fingers”, can only wait for the results of our common efforts – high scores in the republican testing. We wish good luck and success to future enrollees!

We are 10 years old!

A.I. Tasmagambetova
President of Saby Charitable Foundation

Every modern society has its own history of charities.

For instance, in England it began about 400 years ago and had deep roots and existing traditions. The culture of philanthropy in USA was formed more than a century ago. And it did not happen by chance. As we know, charitable organizations and people who participate in their activity are parts of spiritual structure of society. Easing sufferings of people who are in need and supporting them financially, they not only help deal with physical sufferings, but also help to negate such emotions as fear and anger, hate and indifference. It is those emotional settings that ultimately develop moral standards and lead to systematic degradation in the society, forming a vicious circle at the end of which there are more and more unhappy and desperate people. So the universal importance of love and compassion to your fellow human being, which is the basis of the any charitable organization’s activity, helps achieve tangible results and actual success stories.

In Kazakhstan, after the country gained the independence, charity movement had to begin from scratch. We had to lay the ground and develop the national organized charity traditions. We only had the universal principles of charity such as benevolence, empathy and compassion as our starting points. So many things were done intuitively, without knowing technical procedures and simply following the dictates of our hearts.

I am happy to note that the present-day Kazakhstan charity already has its own historical roots. In this respect one of the first organizations that initiated the official charitable activity was the Saby Foundation, which has been established for over 10 years now.

During this time the Saby charitable Foundation has grown from a group of like-minded people to the large organization that is able to accumulate considerable resources for various charity and social projects. Nowadays they are carried out in all the regions of Kazakhstan.

Our Foundation does not focus on specific beneficiary directions, because we try to work with all social groups that are in need of support. Our charitable assistance is not provided by the principle “from the powerful to the weak ones” or “from the rich to the poor”. It comes from the possibility to help those who are really in need of support at present time.

But our Foundation has the main principle: efficiency. We fully realize that the support and help must be timely. Because the people who attract our attention are exposed to emotional discomfort and may at any moment lose belief in themselves and the people around them, losing hope of a normal life in the society.

As a result of the work of the Saby Charitable Foundation, some 250 000 people were given help and support when they really needed it. Among them are 210 000 children and adults with serious illnesses, 35 000 physically challenged people, 5 000 orphans.

We appreciate our past and think of the future. We have high goals. We are not used to await someone to offer us; our aim is to generate ideas to help needy people. Our Foundation has new projects ahead, the realization of which will ensure our beneficiaries new opportunities for life improvement.

From the bottom of my heart I thank our friends, philanthropists, sponsors, partners, big companies and small firms, organizations and private persons for invaluable support, trust and cooperation!

With best wishes, most sincerely yours,
Aselle Tasmagambetova

Happy Victory Day!

Happy Victory Day! Dear friends, dearest veterans!

Please accept our warmest congratulations on the Day of Great Victory!
We wish you long-lasting life, strong health and peaceful sky over your heads!

В погожий, светлый майский день,
Как много лет назад,
На праздник расцвела сирень,
Украсив буйно сад;
