Young chess-players have received new inventory!

By | Alem – support of young talents

Young chess-players have received new inventory! There was a time when our country was not only the most reading one in the world, but also the country having the highest number of chess-players. At that time this ancient game took a great place in the upbringing a culture of thinking. Chess increased discipline and developed concentration and memory. Today, unfortunately, we have less and less people who are keen on chess-playing. And all of them are mostly adult people of the old school. Unfortunately, chess is not so popular among children and youth. Of course, there are many other activities, games and arts which allow them to develop personal characteristics, but chess takes a special place.

In order to revive the best traditions of the past century, the “Saby” Charitable Foundation has decided to assist the Almaty Union of Chess-Players in acquiring the necessary inventory instead of obsolete one.
For this purpose we have purchased professional chess clock (the Netherlands) and figures (Russia) in Moscow, and Kazakhstan’s famous furniture companies have produced special tournament tables and chairs. The whole inventory corresponds fully to international FIDE standards.

Currently, the Union of Chess-Players is performing preparatory work for the organization of a children’s qualifying tournament dedicated to the 20th Anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan, where young Grand Masters will be able to appreciate new inventory. We hope that their game will be even more effective and progressive, which will certainly be announced at our site.

Did you call Invataxi?

By | Decent life for Disabled Persons

Did you call Invataxi? 3 years have passed from the start of the project “Decent life to disabled persons”. And we, together with public organizations of disabled persons that have received invataxi vehicles from our Foundation, are proud to share the results.

At this date the “Saby” Foundation has purchased 50 vehicles, of which 9 cars are currently being re-equipment at the factory in Germany and, as they become available in Almaty they will be distributed in different regions of Kazakhstan.

Today, the “Invataxi” free social taxi service for people with disabilities is operating in 14 cities of our country. Each car is equipped with special hydraulic lifts, which makes it easier to carry out landing for wheelchair users. It is very important – now passengers, who have difficulties in movement, do not need to transfer from wheelchairs to car seats, and back.
The importance and necessity of transport services are supported by numerous grateful responds in log books assigned to each car.

Vadim TOROPOV, Chairman of the City Association of Disabled Persons, Shymkent:
“I want to say that the organization of the “Invataxi” service in Shymkent has changed many things, and the most important one is the attitude of citizens towards people with disabilities. Before, there were false stereotypes that we did not have any disabled persons because they were all sitting at home. Due to the project launched by the President of the “Saby” Foundation Assel Tasmagambetova, people with disabilities have started feeling full-fledged citizens. Participation in various cultural events held in the town, visiting social, medical, educational and other institutions – all this has become possible. In turn, the attitude to the organization of disabled persons from state institutions and citizens of South Kazakhstan region has also changed”

Maral NURALINA, dispatcher of the “Invataxi” service, Association for protection of disabled citizens of Aktobe:
“Establishment of a specialized taxi service for people with disabilities in Aktobe has become a great progress of all people! Such a big step ahead in the development of social life of our city has become possible with the help of the “Saby” Charitable Foundation, which has given our Association two specialized vehicles for transportation of wheelchair users. Now, many disabled persons using the services of the social taxi can move to their targets”

Shakhan ZHULDASBAYEV, consistent user of the “Invataxi” service, Aktobe:
“In June 2007 I met with an accident: I got under the wheels of a car. Diagnosis: cervical vertebra fractured. For a long time I received medical treatment and rehabilitation in Kazakhstan and Russia. I do not want to talk about that terrible days and suffering of mu relatives. Now it’s all over. I have disability of I category and I want to live. Recently, I have got a job in the Association of Disabled Persons of Aktobe city. Due to the fact that I live 20 kilometers from the city, a comfortable “Invataxi” car brings me every day to my work and back. I know that many people are using the “Invataxi” services, but there are a lot of people who want to use it. I sincerely thank all my friends and relatives, the city management, Association for protection of disabled citizens of Aktobe and, of course, the “Saby” Charitable Foundation for the opportunity to start my life again. Let our city have more such kind people and such equipment that facilitates lives of those people who have lost the ability to move independently. I will try to justify your and my hopes”

In order to take advantage of “Invataxi” service you should call the dispatcher one day before the trip and order the service (phone numbers for each city are listed in “useful links” at our website).

By | Sport-Health-Achievement

Football field is ready! A football field, on the construction of which in the territory of the Almaty Youth House we wrote in early August, has started its functioning. The first match has been played, and children have already estimated professional cover “artificial grass”.

Due to a contour floodlighting located along the perimeter of the field children will be able to play football till late at night, because most of them study or work during daylight hours.

Football is favorite sport of the majority “Zhastar” participants, and a new field is a real gift to those children whose leisure time is inextricably linked with healthy lifestyle.

Ahead, children! The “Saby” Foundation wishes you new achievements in sports!

Kyzylorda region welcomes the “Saby” Foundation again Continuing the search for young talents in rural areas of Kazakhstan the “Saby” Foundation has initiated a new business trip of a of the “Alem” programme for the support of young talents. The destination of the trip has become Kyzylorda region, where our Foundation has been operating for several years.

Meetings with pupils of several educational institutions were held in order to present the “Alem” programme. Two schools of the Aiteke bi village of Kazalinsky district, No 170 and No 249, have become the first in the list of visits. Children were looking forward to the meeting to demonstrate their talents and ask lots of questions regarding conditions of participation in the programme. Hospitable reception and warm fellowship with pupils were very impressing and left the warmest memories.

The next point of destination was Kyzylorda, more precisely, our sponsored institution – Boarding School No 1 for orphans and children left without parental care. The story about great opportunities offered by our project, of course, was interesting both for children and staff of the Boarding School.

The trip has resulted in the pre-selection of several promising children who have a great chance to become participants of the “Alem” programme and get full support from the “Saby” Foundation to develop their extraordinary abilities.
