Atyrau, support us with your talents! The “Alem” Programme, the purpose of which is to support young talents, continues searching for talented children throughout the whole territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This time the west region is the center of events.

For this responsible mission a regular creative business trip of an employee of the “Saby” Charitable Foundation was organized to Atyrau oblast.

The familiarization with the “Alem” Program took place in seven educational institutions of Atyrau oblast. During the first day of the trip discussion were held with pupils and teachers from 2 schools of the Makhambet village.

The third day and the fourth one were geographically vaster. Children from Beibarys, Sarytogai, Saraichik and Aktogai were waiting for a meeting with our representative and showed high activity in their intention to participate in the Programme.

The main purpose of the trip was to find talented children from the depth of our country and, in our opinion, we have achieved that purpose: we are very interested in some potential participants of the “Alem” Programme and we do hope that experts of the “Alem” Programme will be able to confirm and develop their abilities.

According to the existing tradition of such trips, our representative has also visited the Mugedek Alemi Public Association – an organization sponsored by the “Saby” Charitable Foundation under the Project “Decent Life to Disabled Persons”. A briefing with Chairman of the society of the disabled persons has also been attended by an employee of the City Department of Employment and Social Protection of Population.

The trilateral discussion of functioning of the Invataxi Service included matters related to improvement of conditions for provision of social taxi services to disabled persons, including a matter regarding the necessity for increase in financing of the service from the municipal budget next year.

Young chess-players have received new inventory!

By | Alem – support of young talents

Young chess-players have received new inventory! There was a time when our country was not only the most reading one in the world, but also the country having the highest number of chess-players. At that time this ancient game took a great place in the upbringing a culture of thinking. Chess increased discipline and developed concentration and memory. Today, unfortunately, we have less and less people who are keen on chess-playing. And all of them are mostly adult people of the old school. Unfortunately, chess is not so popular among children and youth. Of course, there are many other activities, games and arts which allow them to develop personal characteristics, but chess takes a special place.

In order to revive the best traditions of the past century, the “Saby” Charitable Foundation has decided to assist the Almaty Union of Chess-Players in acquiring the necessary inventory instead of obsolete one.
For this purpose we have purchased professional chess clock (the Netherlands) and figures (Russia) in Moscow, and Kazakhstan’s famous furniture companies have produced special tournament tables and chairs. The whole inventory corresponds fully to international FIDE standards.

Currently, the Union of Chess-Players is performing preparatory work for the organization of a children’s qualifying tournament dedicated to the 20th Anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan, where young Grand Masters will be able to appreciate new inventory. We hope that their game will be even more effective and progressive, which will certainly be announced at our site.

“Alem” Programme – 1 year!

By | Alem – support of young talents

“Alem” Programme – 1 year! The “Saby” Charitable Foundation celebrates a small but very significant event – a year has passed since the start of the “Alem” Programme the purpose of which is to support young talents, and we are summing up the first results:

During the year our committee has processed over 160 applications from candidates from more than 20 cities and villages of our country. We have organized visits of the Foundation’s employees to 8 populated areas in order to inform young people about the conditions of the Programme.

Specialists have held 8 creative auditions in the field of vocal, as a result of which two young singers having unique voices Zhassulan Sydykov from Kostanay and Timur Aldybergenov from Almaty oblast have received grants to study in the Kazakh National Conservatory.

Another two participants, Assanova Shamshyrak from Aktobe region and Lushnikova Yelena from Petropavlovsk have received educational grants under the “Alem” Programme and entered prestigious educational institutions: Yelena – the University of Medicine, and Shamshyrak – College of Music.

In anticipation of our little anniversary we have organized a personal exhibition of the youngest participant of the “Alem” Programme” – Roman Kuznetsov from Petropavlovsk. His works have been presented to the visitors in the Directorate of Art Exhibitions in Almaty.

We also provide our support to strong-willed children who, for some reason, have not become participants of the “Alem” Programme but who have made their best efforts for that end. Thus, Khametov Anuar, a novice sculptor, and a young poet Soltanov Beknur, both from Semey, have received gifts from the “Saby” Foundation – laptops – as a reward for their creativity.

Significant work has been carried out in collaboration with Timur Bekmambetov on the implementing a joint project – Scenario Competition to seek and select talented writers from all over Kazakhstan, the winner of which was our compatriot Bakhtior Kadyrov.

We believe that each of the children will meet expectations of the Foundation and will become an excellent specialist in a chosen field.

Good luck, the first participants of the “Alem” Programme!
