The second February stage of professional testing of fosterlings of boarding schools of Almaty city has come to the close. The testing was held in Almaty branch of Saint Petersburg University of the Humanities and Social Sciences.
All participants received the reports with detail analysis of their testing according to which an expert of professional testing had a personal talk with every child giving valuable recommendations about occupational choice.
Computer professional testing, organized by Saby Foundation annually, has good results. As we have informed 70% of children, who had passed testing, enter chosen specialties selected by smart program successfully.

The subscription for the most readable and popular child’s publications, “Baldyrgan” magazine and “Ulan” newspaper, has been extended for social institutions which applied to Saby Foundation. Moreover, the quantity of subscriptions has increased doubly.

Therefore, in 2015 fosterlings of the affiliated institutions will have the possibility to read their favorite magazines again. Under the conditions of total computerization and informatization it is remarkably that children show their interest in “live” reading and it confirms the actuality of this charitable act.

Professional Montessori teachers, working according to the Italian System of Early Development by Maria Montessori the essence of which is to engage a child into self education from his/her early life, started their work in Kyzylorda Orphanage. Recently the third final stage of this educational approach instruction was completed in the affiliated institution of our Foundation.

Saby Foundation defrays all expenses on organization of teaching process of 15 teachers of the Orphanage as well as opening and equipping of the Montessori Center. This seminar as well as previous ones was practical and lasted nearly two weeks. The participants received certificates of early development of children from birth to 3 years old by Eurasian Montessori Center of Pedagogics, Yekaterinburg.

Now the certified specialists can provide and support necessary atmosphere for the development of their little fosterlings, children who left without parental care.

Since October we start the new stage of preparatory courses to UNT (Unified National Testing), which, as usually, will last 8 months. Children from boarding schools of Almaty city, who undoubtedly set the goal to get higher education, will start to improve their gained in school knowledge and to master new, more complex, issues and subjects.

The courses organized by Saby Foundation in one of the city educational centers show excellent dynamics from year to year. For example, all children who attended lessons during 2013-2014 academic year entered universities with fellowship. Such results are explained by first strict selection of students, their lofty aims and good level of teaching.

We hope that 2014-2015 stage will become effective and will show the corresponding results in May of the next year when our graduates get necessary points on UNT.

Сourses of preparation to the Common National Testing, which Saby Foundation organizes every year in one of the educational centers of our city for foster children of boarding schools of Almaty and Almaty region, have terminated recently.

As we wrote earlier, not all seniors, who participated in the project, could boast their results in the first months: additional loading to the school program is hard. 8-month way to the main testing was difficult. Sometimes school leavers had to miss classes by the reason of illness or other reasons. But in spite of this the majority of them could dispose vacancies in their knowledge, which seemed to be especially difficult. They improved their results and showed stable good points.

On the part of the Foundation comprehensive contact was maintaining with mentors from educational centers, fosterers and pupils themselves over the period of the training course. Now we hope that every school leaver can pass his/her first main examination with certainty.

Training courses for Common National Testing, which Saby Foundation annually organizes for children from boarding schools of Almaty and Almaty region in one of the tutor centers of the city, are still continued.

Specially developed program for school leavers is more detail and complex in comparison with the common school program. Probably, for this reason the points, received in the educational center by pupils on the monthly basis, are lower than they receive in their schools. In general, even the results of pupils, who could not receive minimal 50 points in the first months of education, were improved.

Certainly, great successes can achieve only those who did not miss lessons and attend additional Sunday elective courses. As the saying is “train hard…”. Now the future graduates have some difficulties, but during CNT they will not have unexpected questions, which can disorient them.

The future graduates have 3 months to manage to improve their results. The experts of the center will do their best to help with this issue.

The second stage of professional testing, which is held by Saby Charitable Foundation twice a year for school leavers from boarding schools of Almaty and Almaty region, was launched.

The question of profession choice is of a high priority for school leavers. It is insufficient to say: “I want to become…” It is important to define your inclinations and abilities in the chosen profession. Several years Saby Foundation helps to understand this complex process, organizing and financing professional testing, using special computer program developed in Lomonosov Moscow State University.

At least 70 people, who want to understand themselves better, gathered on the each stage. February stage is the final stage before school completion, this stage, as a rule, leads school leavers to the final decision about the choice of future activity.

This year, 49 students from Almaty and regions have studied at the secondary and higher educational institutions of our country thanks to Saby Charitable Foundation grants, issued under the Educational Project and Alem Young Talents Support Program.

From our experience, we know that only a few first-year students are able to get involved in learning and assimilate knowledge they are being taught from the very beginning. Former schoolchildren feel a sense of discomfort; they fail to keep their usual rhythm of life, barely coping with the increased workload and responsibility. Unfortunately, freshers sometimes give up their study at the start. That’s why we count our ‘chickens’ not on the 1st of September, but a little later, giving them the opportunity to adapt.

Now, in November, when our happy grantees come to the Foundation and tell us about their learning in a new atmosphere and vivid impressions, we listen to each of them with interest and realize how important and actual our educational grants are, which give their owners the opportunity to get their favorite professions and find their own way in life.

We wish all representatives of younger generation to show confidently their talents and aspire to knowledge!

Coming closer to the graduation, every high school student starts thinking about the future, looking for his or her own “key to success in life”, thinking on the question “what to become?” Most teens choose a profession on their relatives’advice or by their friends’example, without regard to their character traits, preferences and aptitudes. Unfortunately, such kind of choice hardly ever proves to be successful. As a result, the coveted university diploma lies dusty in a cabinet, and the newlytrained specialist is tempting fate in a completely different field.

Occupational choice is one of the most serious issues facing school leavers and directly influencing their life. That’s why Saby Charitable Foundation organizes annual computer testing for career guidance of the pupils of Almaty children’s homes, which is conducted in two stages, in October and February. The teens welcome this innovation with great interest and responsibility, because everyone wants to test themselves and not to be mistaken in their chosen path. A computer program developed by Moscow State University named after M. Lomonosov gives participants not only accurate guidelines for choosing the specialty, but also advice on the development of skills and preparation for entry into universities.

The first stage of testing is launching in a few days, and we hope that each of our students, having it passed, will be able to say with confidence: “I want to be a…”
