The girl has already passed one treatment course in China. In order to maintain a stable condition it is necessary for her to have a regular massage, acupuncture and do remedial gymnastics. Besides a specialized wheelchair is required that will ensure the correct position of a back and unload a spine.

Taking into account current improvements in treatment of the girl, “Saby” Fund has complied with the request of her mother and bought Racer Plus wheelchair of Akces-MED (Poland) manufacture that will serve Darina at least 3 years.

‘Skalomobil’ Project Works in Pavlodar

By | Decent life for Disabled Persons

Recently a worker of ‘Saby’ Foundation visited Pavlodar where he met with the Head of the Pavlodar City Society of Physically Challenged Persons, which is a beneficiary of the Foundation and within the framework of ‘Decent Life for Disabled People’ project in 2011 received two ‘Invataxi’ cars and stepper stair lift as a gift from ‘Saby’ Foundation.

Georgii Chetverikov, the chairman of the Society, said that thanks to the gift from 2012 the city launched a new kind of free services for wheelchair users. Now physically challenged people are not only driven by free ‘Invataxi’ but also the drivers of social services help them to overcome the staircases. Thus all the conditions for self-realization and integration of people with limited mobility are established in Pavlodar.

“Invataxi” For Veterans

By | Decent life for Disabled Persons

“Invataxi” For Veterans Five years have passed since the moment when Saby Foundation solemnly presented keys from the initial batch of special Volkswagen cars, equipped with hydraulic ram, to the society of disabled people in Almaty city for creation of free social transport service for transportation of wheelchair persons. The alterations occurred since then only gladden: our cars drive already in 20 cities of Kazakhstan, facilitating lives of people with disabilities.

It is gladly to mention, especially on these victorious May days, that “invataxi” uses not only for transportation of disabled people. In some cities of our country, thanks to the local budget financing of transport services, veterans of the Great Patriotic War can call a cab. Guided tours to the festive events were organized for veterans with especial consideration on the 9th of May.

Years are passing and, unfortunately, the number of veterans is decreasing. We are happy that our cars bring a little joy to their life.

The State Will Support “Invataxi”

By | Decent life for Disabled Persons

The “Decent Life for Disabled People” Project was developed by Saby Foundation in 2008. Within its framework our Foundation purchased cars, equipped with especially hydraulic lifting mechanisms for quick and safe lifting and descending of wheelchair persons. These cars were donated to the Societies of Disabled People of Kazakhstan cities, which rendered free transport services for people with disabilities.

To the present day 62 specialized Invataxi cars of Volkswagen mark were purchased, which were distributed in 20 cities of the country. The expenses of Saby Foundation on the Project constituted more than 400 million tenge. Notwithstanding the colossal financial and labour expenses, it is impossible to satisfy the requirements of all Kazakhstan people who have problems with transportation by the efforts of one private Foundation. Saby Foundation does not make it aim. The resolution of the problem of such scale character is the prerogative of the state. The main task of the Foundation is to show to authorities of all cities that to organize specialized Invataxi transportation services is possible and that they can work successfully rendering services for target group of people, with problems of which they are acquainted not by hearsay.

Such fundamental work of the Foundation, which simplified lives of thousand people in wheelchairs, was not invisible. On the initiative of the President of Saby Foundation Assel Tasmagambetova, the meeting with the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection was taken place in 2012, in the result of which the “Descent Life for Disabled People” Project was supported on the state level.

Then the advancing work started within the whole year. The Minister held the meeting with the leaders of public associations of disabled people of all regions in the country, the working group of development of unified organization rules, financing and rendering of “Invataxi” social services was created. In the result of numerous meetings, conferences and round tables were put forward the concrete proposals about not only the improvement of access to objects and services for disabled people, but the cooperation penetration of state authorities with non-governmental bodies.

The expected result of the executed work became Order No 859 of the Minister of Transport and Communications dated November 01, 2013, which affirms the Rules of Service Rendering by Automobile Transport (reference for downloading [attachment=9]). Recently the document was published in the Republican newspaper “Kazakhstanskaya Pravda”, which means that it became valid.

Consequently Saby Foundation finishes its long-term activity on the “Decent Life for Disabled People” Project and confides it to the reliable state.

The rest 5 cars are expected in the mid-August. Even Impossible Problems Can Be Solved

By | Decent life for Disabled Persons

Even Impossible Problems Can Be Solved A staircase is an insuperable obstacle for a human being who has to move around in a wheelchair if there is nobody near the elevator, ramp or no physically fit accompanying person to help.

And though modern regulatory documents stipulate arrangement of elevators for wheelchair-dependent people in multi-storey buildings, in fact, they are limited to useless ramps which are raised only up to the first floor.

Practically, the only one alternative here is mobile special purpose elevators which ensure safe travel of wheelchair-dependent people up and down the staircase. But a big disadvantage of such step climbing devices is their high price – around US$ 8,000 per unit, which is, of course, too expensive for the majority of physically challenged people.

In order to solve this problem Saby Charitable Foundation purchases caterpillar and wheel-based elevators and hands them over free of charge to the Invataxi service. While performing their duties drivers of special purpose vehicles use these devices to help people on wheelchairs ascend and descend the unequipped staircases.

Nowadays such mechanisms are being successfully used in the Invataxi system in 15 towns of Kazakhstan. And in view of expansion of the geography of these services 4 more elevators have been additionally purchased for Petropavlovsk, Taldykorgan, Turkestan and Zhezkazgan.
