Medical equipment purchased by the “Saby” Foundation for Akmola Regional Hospital No.2, recently delivered by the supplier, and was installed in the maternity department. The employees of the medical establishment have already received training for operating the equipment and started to apply the vital devices in the practice of resuscitation.

According to the hospital management, “… modern medical equipment allows to provide qualified assistance to newborns from the first minutes of their lives, to detect and eliminate the states threatening the lives of young patients, to minimize the development of complications.”

Maternity department of the medical establishment is still not fully equipped with resuscitation systems, so a gift made by our charitable foundation is of great importance to provide emergency assistance to children.

A sad fact: there are still health care centers, which have a necessity in vital medical equipment for providing people with professional assistance.

Among them, the Akmola Regional Hospital No. 02, which treats about 200 000 patients coming from the seven regional districts annually. This organization provides children, inclusive of the newborns, who were born in the delivery department, with urgent and planned in-hospital medical aid. However, insufficient funding, which is carried out by the local budget, keeps from updating the material and technical resources of the hospital.

The Saby Foundation couldn`t but answer the authorities` appeal. Having conducted the necessary negotiations and conferences we bought some stationary ultrasonic diagnostics system of the premium class DC-7 Mindray with a multicolor Doppler and a 3D/4D capability. Also we have bought two humidifiers of breathing gas, which are designed for heating and humidification of gas supplying a patient during the process of lung ventilation.

The delivery of this equipment is expected to be in 2 months. It will be installed in the delivery department of the hospital.

Recently in the City Children’s Clinical Hospital No.2 a computer complex composed of “Neyron-Spektr-4P” and “Neyron-Spektr Video” devices for electroencephalography (EEG), which was purchased by our Foundation in the March of this year, has been installed.

The medical apparatus has been tested and already put into the day-to-day operation, servicing the little patients.

In addition to the medical equipment the healthcare center has received as a gift from “Saby” Foundation the bedding items in amount of h 240 blankets and the same number of pillows and 480 sets of bedclothes. Whereas the EEG-complex assists to hasten the recovery of children, the brand new bedclothes makes downhome their stay at the in-patient facility.

“Shymbulak” Antiphthisic Sanatorium for Children of Almaty city – one of the longtime supervisees of our Foundation. Since 2007 “Saby” Foundation regularly rendered assistance to this institution: big playground for children was built, room for therapeutic exercise was repaired and equipped, New Year presents and congratulations were organized for little patients, annual subscription for children newspapers and magazines was taken out several years.

Also in 2007 dental department was opened in the sanatorium, because more than 1000 children from low-income and socially deprived families were taken rehabilitation therapy here and 80% of them need mouth cavity sanitation.

Dental treatment unit, which purchased our Foundation, had gone out of date and there arose the necessity to change it for modern equipment.

“Saby” Foundation took the decision to help the Antiphthisic Sanatorium again. New dental unit and mobile drawer unit for medical appliances were purchased. Now children may receive competent and unpainful treatment in comfort conditions.

Children`s city clinical hospital No. 2 is a longtime beneficiary of “Saby” Foundation. Since 2007 our Foundation has been helping the establishment a lot of times: we have repaired premises, equipped game and class rooms, purchased furniture and accessories as well as necessary medical devices.

Currently, the hospital is completely run by the state and well-equipped. But recently the apparatus for electroencephalographic examination (EEG) of functional status of central nervous system and muscular tone as well as for diagnostics of nervous diseases went wrong.

Purchase of equipment using the system of public procurement requires a protracted period of time and it may take about two months to supply the equipment. While there is an acute need for the apparatus. Hence, “Saby” Charitable Foundation within the Medical Project decided to present the computer complex “Neuron –Spectrum -4/П” and “Neuron-Spectrum Video to CCCH No.2

The agreement with the supplying organization has been already sign what makes it possible to put the new EEG into operation in early summer.

Miracles shall happen on New Year’s eve in obligatory manner.

The appearance of three game rooms, equipped by festive bright toys, became an absolute miracle for children, who undergo treatment in Almaty Regional Clinical Hospital for children in Otegen Batyr village, Ili district, Almaty region!

Waiting room, somatic and neurology department are filled by childish laugh and joy. This is the best thing which helps to kill disease!

Saby Charitable Foundation made such New Year’s gift within the framework of “Medical Project”. Three rooms were equipped by little houses, slopes, rockers, cars, dry basins with thousands of balls and soft toy blocks, etc. The floor was laid by soft rubber covering for children’s safety.

Saby Foundation replied on the application of the City Infectious Hospital For Children of Almaty city to purchase furniture for children with pleasure. Multicolored tables with chairs were manufactured by special order, at which children may not only have dinner, but play development games. In the conditions of hospital and shortage of vacant space it is necessary to combine everything.

Besides furniture, it was decided to gift computer equipment to the institution as well as electronic weighting unit for babies.

P.S. in continuation of this campaign one of the friends of the foundation presented playpens with mattress to children from “infectious” department, because there existed acute need in such things.

Saby Foundation is responsible for any contribution, coming from benefactors. Philanthropists repose trust in our organization their money in the belief that no tenge will disappear and all of them will find an effective application in the most actual social projects.

The “fate” of received funds is determined by the Board of the Foundation. For example, when the fundraising system starts by the means of Qiwi payment terminals, it was decided not to put in circulation individual allotment of users immediately (because usually, the amount of received payments is not very large); it’s more reasonably to accumulate money during a certain period of time and then absorb maximum interest of them.

At present, the amount, collected by common efforts of different people (whose names we do not know and, unfortunately, we cannot personally thank), was enough to participate in one of the projects of the Foundation.

It was decided to spend it in acquisition of medical equipment for children’s social institutions, that is the State Children’s Home of Kyzylorda city and the State health care institution Children’s Home of Karakastek village. In Kyzylorda there was purchased physiotherapy equipment for children, suffering from diseases of nervous system, and a set of hand-held massagers. And in Karakastek there was purchased a special air-oven, destined for sterilization and disinfection of medical instruments and utensils and sterilizing drums as well.

Due to the seemingly small contributions, paid in by means of Qiwi terminals, orphans and children, left without parental care and who are brought up in the aforementioned institutions will have the opportunity to reinstate their health.

Saby Charitable Foundation has been carrying on activity under its Medical Project for 10 years already, which is one of the first and long-term projects. From 2002, when the project was launched, much has changed in our country. Budget financing of the medical industry has significantly increased, state programs covering all spheres of health care have been developed. But the role of private sector capital, including charitable organizations, should not be underestimated. Foundations of high mobility can be involved to solve a definite problem, when a prompt response, hard to be fulfilled in conditions of public procurement, is required.

Within the frame of the Medical Project, Saby Foundation, among other objectives, renders assistance to medical and preventive treatment institutions to improve hospital conditions for patients, first of all, for children. To facilitate the stay of children in hospitals during a period of treatment and rehabilitation, game rooms are equipped especially for them.

A few days ago, little patients of National Scientific Cardiac Surgery Center JSC of the National Medical Holding Company of Astana city were donated by the Foundation with a domestic playground, where children can swing and slide down, draw and count, play in a ‘dry swimming pool’ and build from plastic bricks almost real buildings and equip, together with their mothers, private space in the garden house.

Time spent in games distracts children from their disease giving them new energy to fight the ailment.

Are you familiar with the situation when in summer heat days, a refrigerator suddenly goes wrong and food products purchased in advance, quickly deteriorate and become uneatable?

The Republican State Enterprise based on Economic Jurisdiction of Semey State Medical University, which unified in its walls the adults and children’s regional hospitals, has faced such problem. The failed and unrepairable obsolete refrigeration equipment has become a threat with its disruptions to the functioning of the medical institution, since food poisoning, especially by children whose health is weakened even without that by diseases, may lead to very serious consequences.

The enterprise’s management team, having no possibility to purchase the freezing chamber by means of government funding, had for a long time, but unsuccessfully seeking for sponsors, until it addressed Saby Foundation.

Our work goes quickly: an urgent decision was made on the request, a suitable machinery was found within a short period of time, the necessary documents were executed and the payment was made to the supplier. As a result, the assembling of the new unit has been recently completed and its commissioning performed.

The largest multipurpose medical center in the East Kazakhstan Region, which provides medical care to adults and children in the region, now has one problem less.
